Nokia Lumia 1020 is not quite the perfect flagship, but for those who care to have a good camera on-the-road to lash out whenever necessary is a cracked phone.
Head directly to the camera if page 1020 Lumia is all interested >
The blocking problem is exacerbated by the housing of the camera on the back, which protrudes from a few mm from the rear. 1020 Lumia is 158g and 10.4 mm thick, which makes it significantly less than three main rivals, the Galaxy S4, 5S of iPhone and HTC One.
However, Nokia has been able to make the phone much lighter than 185 g Lumia 920 (a right old porker), and we don't think that a phone of 10 mm is nothing to worry about – unlike, say, a phone with a 6.4-inch screen like the Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
There is a design problem, though – ergonomics. When you hold the 1020 Lumia custody sits under your fingers. And as reaches out in a pretty serious angle, rather than blooming smoothly out of the body, it feels uncomfortable. In terms of hand-friendship, this is probably the worst of all Lumias.
It's all down to the camera, otherwise 1020 Lumia has the same beauty of Lumia in his compilation that we are accustomed to. The sides are evenly curved and bicolour yellow and black finish of our review model looks great. His body is yellow, buttons, screen surround and custody are black.
Nokia Lumia 1020 is also available in black and white but their looks are less surprising.
Typical of the style series Lumia, Nokia Lumia 1020 also keeps its sides as simple as possible. There is no memory card slot, and the microSIM lives in a small tray on the top edge of the phone. There are 32 and 64 GB versions of the phone, but the 64 GB is only available from O2, to at least 2013.
Is updated enough in terms of functionality, with NFC and 4 g, as well as the most common smartphone standards, such as GPS.
With a 4.5-inch screen, 1020 Lumia is not there with the larger screen phones on the market – almost all high end androids have larger display these days. It is not immediately obvious which is smaller both as 1020 Lumia has a bezel chunkier than many other of the best phones of 2013.Ago 1020 Lumia slightly less attractive as an observer of film/portable TV though.
The display of Lumia 1020 is a 1,280 x 768 pixels AMOLED screen which is typical of Lumia ClearBlack display series – that are geared for clarity in all conditions. Is too good. The contrast is excellent, a reproduction of the color is strong (if nothing else, we would like the ability to tone it down) and the brightness outdoors is am unusally good thanks to Super AMOLED-type Panel and the anti-reflective coating decent used.
Is a personable, highly effective in most situations.
There are weaknesses for pedants point out, though. We argue that this screen quite doesn't deserve the label of ' Retina ' can that ably invented when it launched the iPhone 4 from Apple.
Specs-wise doesn't seem to make sense at first – with 1,280 x 768 pixels spread from 4.5 inch, pixel density of 1020 Lumia is actually slightly higher than iPhone. Is 332 instead of 326ppi.
So how can it be less strong? AMOLED screen of Nokia Lumia 1020 uses an array that uses sub-pixel Pentyl two whole of sub-pixels per pixel instead of three. This significantly reduces the impression of sharpness – and watching closely you can still see the slight confusion of Pentyl display. However, it is much less pronounced than in older Lumias big screen as Lumia 900.
