A few years ago it was unthinkable that dilute the brand Apple iPhone releasing more than one version at a time. However, the growth of the mid-range market and the success of Samsung Galaxy range excessively fragmented, driven by Samsung Galaxy S4 mighty, caused Apple to rethink its strategy.
But not quite a ' cheap ' iPhone is the iPhone 5. There is a price to be paid to begin with, but it also offers something different and seems to start getting some of their younger folk back on the Apple bandwagon and hooked on the ecosystem.
I prefer the video? Watch our video of iPhone 5 hands-on instead:
The unibody enclosure is in hard-coated polycarbonate, glossy, but it's almost like enamel to touch and keeps the body of the phone. It feels much more durable premium earned equivalent plastic found on smartphone Samsung Galaxy range.
All the buttons and connectors are where you expect them to be. The power button/screen is on top, the volume rocker on the left side and the port of zippers at the bottom, along with the 3.5 mm headphone jack.
You might think it's strange to have the headphone jack at the bottom, but the iPhone 5 has shown that it is a bad place. The cable does not cover the screen while you're taking it and is even more natural to pocket a the top of the phone first.
Is very different to hold more of the likes of glass on iPhone 4/4S or 5S the aluminum iPhone and 5. The plastic gives a softer, more comfortable. It's almost like if Apple went deliberately for a material more children.
And then there are the colors. The iPhone 5 comes in a crushing candy assortment of colours, from strawberry pink pea green and some in between. A total of 5 colors will be available from launch.
It's a screen that we admire on iPhone 5 and nothing has changed here. How is waiting for you with a high resolution on a screen so small, the text is extremely cool and easy to read. The pictures are vibrant and video looks great. Doesn't have quite the deep black of the excellent Super AMOLED Samsung-but color tones are a little more accurate.
It may not seem like much when you compare it with the quad and octa-core of the first Android phones, but Apple does things differently and the dual-core processor ran iOS 7 smoothly while we were testing. Quickly open Apps and games run smoothly.
The iPhone 5 comes with most of the standard connectivity such as Bluetooth 4.0, 4 G LTE, AirPlay, Wi-Fi etc, but without the NFC. Apple hasn't embraced the technology that allows devices to pair with each other or reading ' tag ' easily.
As always there is no microSD expansion option, either.
