LG G Flex 2 to feature 90-degree curve?

Rumours of an LG G Flex 2 handsets have emerged, with the second-generation bendable phone said to feature a screen capable of curving up to 90-degrees.

With the original LG G Flex having been launched in Korea in recent months ahead of a European rollout in the New Year, the bendable phone plays host to a display that can flex a few degrees when put under pressure, a feature that stops it from breaking.

Now, however, a second-gen Flex is reportedly in the works, with the LG G Flex to set to be capable of bending to a right angle if required.

With foldable screen phones widely expected to mark the future, the mooted LG G Flex 2 will seemingly act as a middle ground between current bendable options and truly foldable handsets.

“LG Electronics and LG Display are developing a ‘bendable’ smart phone, planning a next year release. It will allow the user to bend up to 90 degrees with force,” claimed sources out of LG’s native Korea told local news outlet ZDNet Korea.

The original LG G Flex boasts a 6-inch 720p HD display which has a banana bend from top to bottom made possible by the screen’s plastic substrate.

Powered by a 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, the phone is further bolstered by 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera and a 3500mAh battery. The handset lines up at 177g in weight and from 7.9mm thick at its tip to 8.7mm in the middle thanks to the curve.

Samsung Galaxy S5 to feature fingerprint scanner after all?

Despite recent reports to the contrary, it has been suggested that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 handset will play host to an integrated fingerprint scanner.

A move that would see the eagerly awaited Samsung Galaxy S5 echo Apple’s recent smartphone addition aboard the iPhone 5S, biometric sensor specialist Fingerprint Cards has told Reuters that it “expects” Samsung to launch “at least one, probably even two” fingerprint reading phones in 2014.

While it is widely expected that the flagship Samsung Galaxy S5 will become the first of these to host the privacy improving technology, the second looks set to be the stylus hosting Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Although highlighting Samsung specifically, Johan Carlstrom, CEO of Fingerprint Cards told the news outlet that he expects multiple manufacturers to follow Apple’s suit and add fingerprint readers to their phones during the coming year.

"I think at least seven or eight will launch a phone with a touch sensor in 2014," the industry specialist said.

Having highlighted his beliefs that two new Samsung handset will run fingerprint sensors, he added: "Samsung is well known for having multiple suppliers for most components and our goal is to be selected as one of their sensor suppliers already in 2014."

With Apple the first to make the move to a fingerprint scanner hosting phone, Carlstrom has claimed that the Cupertino company will be followed by a fleet of copycat offerings.

"It was an industry breakthrough and certainly opens the flood gates and starts a new industry,” he said. "We are just at the beginning of the growth phase.”

Back in September, Samsung seemed to rubbish claims that it would bestow its next flagship phone with an integrated fingerprint scanner.

“We are not yet developing the technology,” an official Samsung spokesperson is reported to have told Korean news outlets when questioned on a fingerprint scanner hosting Samsung Galaxy S5.

HTC One iPhone feature Max 5S rivaling fingerprint sensor?

The HTC Max one can follow the iPhone 5S including a fingerprint sensor, when presumably launches this fall.

New pictures have emerged of an HTC Max, suggesting that the supersized HTC One will pack a fingerprint sensor similar to the iPhone Touch ID 5S.

The device itself in images definitely look very similar to those we saw in the previous losses, but this time the HTC One Max has a new Square Panel under the back of the camera Ultrapixel.

This is said to be a new fingerprint scanner that will be one of the differentiating factors between the HTC Max one and its flagship HTC and HTC One mini brothers.

However, the placement of the sensor on an HTC Max can make it somewhat inaccessible, unlike how Apple has incorporated Touch sensor ID in redesigned home button of 5S of the iPhone.

The user who posted the images suggested the device may have been a prototype HTC as always take this loss with a pinch of salt.

HTC One Max Features
Rumored heavily for a launch sometime this fall, the HTC a Max will have a Full HD LCD from 5.9 inches powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 2.3 GHz with 800 of 2 GB of RAM.

Potentially a direct rival to Samsung Galaxy 3 Note launched recently, the HTC a Max has the same design as the HTC One and offer the latest HTC Sense UI with BlinkFeed and Zoe software features.

The HTC Max one should be NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 4 g LTE connectivity and powered by a rechargeable 200mAh 3, to help run the big screen.

There have not been any official details on Max one from Taiwanese manufacturer HTC yet, but the device is expected to launch in the near future.

515 Nokia has launched as attractive feature phone
