At the top is the micro USB charging port and headphone jack. On the left is the volume rocker. Above right is the on/off button and Micro SIM card slot guarded by a small strip. The lower the dedicated camera button and around the back is a 13-megapixel camera and speaker. Your back is not removable, so that the battery is going nowhere.

The P2 of 4.7 inch, 1,280 x 720 screen matches the P6 and is protected by the second generation Corning Gorilla Glass. It supports a maximum rating of 500 nits brightness, contrast ratio of 1.000: 1, while 312 pixels per inch you put behind the iPhone 5 in terms of levels of clarity, which is more than enough.

It might not be Full HD, but the display is still extremely impressive. The images are sharp and the colors are rich and vibrant. Good brightness and contrast make it ideal for watching movies and the IPS Panel ensures an excellent viewing angle. Is there with the Mini One HTC for overall quality.

The display responds well to presses, slash and gestures like pinch and zoom. There is also a ' Gloves ' mode to increase responsiveness, which works very well. Is a huge display and one that matches the HTC Mini One, which has set a new standard for mid-range phones.

Review of Samsung Galaxy S4 active phone

If you are interested in the weather, is a good alternative to the Galaxy S4.

 

The S4 has different priorities of active design for S4. Being thin and light are of the utmost importance as this phone more healing to survive everyday life.

It is a bit thicker than 7.9 mm thick teeny S4 to 9.1 mm in thickness and about 20 g heavier at 153 g. The S4 active galaxy feels more robust, as if it has been pounding some pre-release protein shakes.

The building is, perhaps surprisingly, not all that different from S4, though. Has a removable plastic battery cover which is pretty flimsy and lightweight. There are rubber ends for S4, though, that will help you avoid light scratches, for a while at least.

This is one of the few parts of the phone that is structured, though. While the rear cover has a metallic finish honeycomb-fantasy that aims to make it look harder than a construction worker with a 9 5 o'clock shadow, is really just smooth plastic.

While the name suggests that you can active survive blows and shocks, in real terms it is much more robust than any other top smartphones. Certain aspects which in reality is less harsh than the S4, as did a layer of Gorilla Glass screen 2 instead of 3 Gorilla Glass, which is significantly stronger. Let us make no mistake – the S4 active do not appreciate being dropped on a hard surface, and while the top and bottom edges are rubberized, not actual rubber that are would you absorb an impact.

Perhaps the most significant hardware's departure for the S4 active galaxy is that it uses soft keys, clicky, rather than touch sensitive ones. There is an obvious reason why – this is a waterproof phone and capacitive sensors of touchscreen buttons underwater go haywire.

The S4 active galaxy is certified IP67, a standard that denotes a certain level of water resistance and dust. What does it mean? The S4 active can bear to be immersed in water and do not let dust.

There's no magic involved here. Samsung uses two main rubber gaskets to provide both water and dust resistance. The main one is on the battery cover, creating a sealed barrier between the outside world and vulnerable items such as slots SIM, battery and other electrical contact points.

The second rubber gasket is the strip of plastic on lower edge, active S4 used to cover the slot microUSB.

If there is a part of waterproofing that impress is the headphone jack. It is not sealed, but is waterproof, completely blocked by the phone's internals. Water-resistant Xperia Z uses the groundwater, including that for the headphone jack, making it less graceful in its execution.

You should grasp quite how ' nuts and bolts ' water resistance of the Galaxy S4 active ' is before you buy. If the phone fell, somehow damage the seal, it's game over for impermeability. However, it seems reasonable that the tire has on the battery lid is easily replaceable.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 credit has a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 p, the same core-specific view in S4 ' vanilla '. However, the two are very different.

The Galaxy S4 has a Super AMOLED display, the S4 an LCD Panel. They work in very different ways. Super AMOLED screens don't have a universal backlight LCD type of assets, allowing them to provide excellent contrast and black levels.

This becomes evident when the S4 is taken in a dark room – the universal backlight becomes quite visible when the screen is tilted, making blacks greyish appearance. This effect is more pronounced than the IPS display – plus HTC's One.

However, typical of an LCD screen, high brightness is slightly higher than the Galaxy S4, and the colors are more fresh and less wealthy. There are few ways to different color saturation (a feature shared with other high-end galaxies) and the display may look a shade blown-out high-brightness with a less vivid mode switched-on, but otherwise is a good view.

Super AMOLED Display are generally more expensive to produce, explaining why the type of LCD is used in active, but both screens are impeccably crisp, with pixel density of just over 440ppi. This level of sharpness is a calling card of the top phones by 2013, and won't find it in all midrange phones yet.

Review Nokia Lumia 520

We did a quick review of 520 la Lumia, with a first-hand look at the phone and all its main bits. One of the most common problems in entry-level phones is that they tend to feel cheap. Are usually chunkier and less elegant high-end phones and suffer higher build quality issues.

However, the Nokia Lumia 520 is one of the best phones in its class in this sense. It uses a plastic lid as virtually all phones cheap, but the backplate deftly covers the whole phone apart from the screen.

This gives the phone a similar unibody look for high-end phones Lumia, although it is not absolutely a unibody. To ensure a robust feel coverage is fairly thick, and has a Matt finish, structured to avoid the bad taste of shiny plastic that plagues many cellphones.

For the price, the 520 Lumia looks and feels like a classy product. However, it is not quite as pretty or nice as la Lumia 620. Cover of the phone that has a translucent layer that gives them a depth look finishes. Here, the plastic is dull stuff.

Its ergonomics are pretty good, though. Structured coating offers a little extra grip and the rear carefully curved sits comfily in hand.

There are also some neat style touches, such as the trio of Lumia-staple of physical buttons on the right edge of the phone is black contrast punchily phone tones. There is no labelling tricks of what these buttons do not even – another common aesthetic blunder to cheapy phones.

If you're wondering, these commands are shutter buttons, volume and camera power.

The phone comes in shades of red, blue and yellow, as well as the more sober blacks and whites. And microSD memory card slot and SIM slot live under the battery cover to help keep simple external appearance on Lumia 520.

520 Display la Lumia is slightly larger than 620 Lumia. Is four inches across, which is pretty generous for a budget phone like this. In addition to being a shade larger than its more expensive brother, is also larger than the Samsung Galaxy Ace screen 2 and Sony Xperia e. and both of those tend to cost more.

However, it is quite crucial to a number of different ways. Its viewing angles are fine, but the display quality is otherwise limited. There is a reddish tint to the display, ensuring accuracy of color is so-so and the lack of any sort of reflection-fighting layer reduces the impression of the contrast and makes the Lumia 520 a bit of a pain to use outdoors – is seriously.

The glass covering the display is not robustly, even tempered. Has any scratch resistance, but will bend under the pressure of a thumb stop prod. However, it is far from the worst case we've seen, and any normal pressure does not cause any distortion on the screen.

Screen resolution is 800 x 480 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of 233ppi. The sharpness is well below the best phones out there, but for a low end phone is perfectly fine. Plus higher brightness is incredibly uncomfortable to contemplate in most situation and the screen size is large enough to happily read websites and play.

Huawei Ascend P6 Phone Review

The Huawei Ascend P6 is the slimmest phone in the world at the time of writing.  Is only 6.2 mm thick and which is undoubtedly the most striking feature of the phone.

The P6 Huawei Asend has many other admirable features too, including a good screen and reasonably powerful quad-core processor. However, the software takes a little getting used to and we think Huawei cares about how thin the P6 Ascend is more than its potential buyers.

First reaction of most people to the Huawei Ascend P6 is likely to be – ' Hey, looks like an iPhone 5. '

Apple may have accused Samsung Galaxy S3 by hacking the iPhone design (resulting in an epic legal battle), but where that was a case of mistaken identity, this is borderline identity theft. Many of the reasons for Huawei Ascend P6 ' design are identical to those of the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S.

It's all about the use of an aluminum strip naked around the phone side, coupled with sharp edges and white plates, front and rear panels. In his hand the two phones are quite similar.

Palm cannot fall in love with those sharp edges, but the P6 Ascend feels like a thick phone, well done. It is also significantly more the iPhone 5, about 1.5 mm thinner than thin.

As the P6 Ascend could be accused of being a rip-off of the iPhone, this is no copy of identikit – there are many design very deliberate differences too. First, the lower edge of the phone is rounded to make your pinky resting on this part more comfortable. It is also one of the few non-metal parts of the phone and is home to the antenna (to avoid the common problems of metal phone signal).

The Huawei Ascend P6 also has a slot for microSD memory card to add the limited 8 GB of internal memory. The micro SIM card and microSD slots are hidden behind (you guessed it) style iPhone open trays using a paper clip or a small tool found on the body of P6 Ascend.

On one side of the phone is a little blip metal round. It will be at first assumes is a flourishing little design – as the loop connector on an iPod touch – but is actually a removable SIM tray. This little thing is pretty well in his hole, but take it and is terribly, terribly easy to lose.

When a paper clip does the job just as well, use of Huawei this tool is an unnecessary risk. Or maybe we're just clumsy.

SIM tool not only lives in a dumb hole in the body of the phone – is the headphone jack. This is a very strange place to put a jack and is a pain to who holds their phone in their left hand, as any cavo cuffia will get in the way. Thanks to the rounded bottom edge, microUSB slot gets to sit on the top edge flat – once again not the most practical choice. Often priority over convenience style here.

A sense of needless extravagance and a little clunky is common in P6 Ascend. It's subtle, but there is little benefit to its thinness, and causes some problems. After using the phone for 10 minutes or so, the back becomes hot enough, even without doing anything too strenuous.

The construction of the phone has a hand in this. Aside from the plastic bottom, sides and back panel are made of aluminium, whose conductive properties make the phone heat within most obvious bits for your fingers.

The Huawei Ascend P6 is a beautiful, well done. But his obsession to have a thin body is a bit unnerving at times destructive.

While the P6 Ascend can be super-slim, fortunately, is not obsessed with the size of the screen. Has a 4.7 inch 720 p – big enough to feel luxurious to both eyes and fingers typing, but not big enough to become embarrassing.

The screen quality is great. Use an IPS Panel, which provides natural-looking colors, strong brightness and good viewing angle.

Resolution is much lower than Similarly sized 1080 p display HTC One, at 1,280 x 720 pixels, but most people will be difficult to notice the difference. The sharpness is excellent, making even small text look smooth. Pixel density is – appropriately enough – almost died on what the iPhone 5 provides, to 321ppi against 326ppi iPhone.

Unlike an iPhone though, also the Huawei Ascend P6 gives you control of the look of the display – thanks to a selector of color temperature within settings. This helps give the display of an orange (warm) or bluish tint (cold), or keep looking. Is a top of the screen.

Huawei Ascend G510 Phone Review

The G510 is a Dowdy cousin of Huawei Ascend P2 trading glamour and style for function and convenience. The Huawei Ascend G510 modest 1.2 GHz dual-core processor does not challenge the likes of Samsung Galaxy S4, but has a large touchscreen display LCD IPS from 4.5 inches and costs only £130 SIM-free and is available for free on contracts from £ 21 per month. Is available in both black and white.

Utilitarian, uninspiring and perfectly describe the design functional on Huawei Ascend G510. Is a plastic phone picture with a few flourishes to distinguish the masses. As such, designing G510 does not compare too favorably with the likes of Nokia Lumia 620, a more colorful and interesting looking phone for about the same price.

May be just 9.9 mm thick, but Huawei Ascend G510 feels larger in the hand. It is not uncomfortable, but the G510 feels overstretched and dense. The G510 weighs a hefty 150 g, too, 30 g heavier than the more Huawei Ascend P6.

Nicely, however, this body of solid plastic not fall the same pitfalls as most budget phones. The G510 feels sturdy. No creak and moan when the pressure is applied as some phones at this price do. We didn't feel like his chances against repeated drops, however, because it still lacks the durability of a phone. The buttons are laid out sensibly, too, as is the speaker and the camera to avoid being overshadowed by stray fingers.

In addition to its simplicity, the only serious issue with design of G510 is the small space between the screen and the frame at the top that quickly fills with dust and debris. It does not affect the performance at all, but it's a useless eyesore.

Inside the G510 has a relatively limited 4 GB of built-in memory. However, it is sufficient for most applications, and there's a microSD card slot, so you can expand up to 32 GB. That is enough for a decent music collection and even some videos. Of course it is included, as is the 3 g, Wi-Fi, but there is no 4 g support or other high-end features like NFC.

Paper screen sounds the Huawei Ascend G510 OK – a 4.5 inch IPS with a 854 x 480 pixels resolution is nothing exceptional, but it's pretty decent for the price. But the reality is quite different. In short: it's rubbish.

Its 218 pixels per inch (ppi) pixel density ensures text looks slightly blurry and HD videos are visceral sharpness of high-end phones, but this is nothing any other economic smartphone does not suffer. Similarly, soft colours and slightly lower peak brightness: it's all fair enough at this price.

But the screen on Huawei Ascend G510 is unparalleled in its inability to face the sunlight. Direct sunlight makes the screen of G510 near unusable; adjusting brightness levels, does nothing to help. This is just a big enough reason to avoid the Huawei Ascend G510 as makes it incredibly difficult to use.

What's more, the imprint of the Board display touch panel is visible in all sorts of lighting conditions – an annoying distraction.

Huawei Ascend Y300 Phone Review

Most budget phones of Huawei are not designed to inspire lust gadgets – are here to offer specific and cracking a good Android experience for little money. That's why we find it quite easy to forgive the Huawei Ascend Y300 for its looks pretty bland.

Is a black plastic phone that embraces its seams, rather than trying to look at flash as a 620 Lumia. To 11.2 mm thick, is slightly too, highlighted by the corpulent frame, block, brick as Y300. This is not a phone obsessed with drawing.
There are some nice little tricks, though. The back cover is rubberized and has a texture of raised lines, making it much grippier than most.

Camera back of Huawei Ascend Y300 also has more visual appeal than most budget phones, which often have a simple lens in a sea of faceless plastic. It may not have bags of personality, but it's a visually inoffensive phone.

Has a screen of healthy size, too. The Y300 Ascend has a 4-inch display, which is becoming a staple size for low-end phones like this.

Such a screen makes the Huawei Ascend Y300 a direct rival for phones like the Samsung Galaxy 3 and Sony Xperia Ace U. The beauty of Huawei is that is usually selling a good 50-£ 70 cheaper.

Viewing has the ascending Y300 down pretty well. Its screen of 800 x 480 pixels IPS is incredibly strong and has no immediate screen pop of a high-end phone, but is brilliant, daring and decent viewing angles. We are on the verge of maturity phone that also entry-level phones can have good enough screens.

There are a couple of obvious limitations. The display appears a bit recessed upper layer (which is partly why the images pop not spectacularly) and the screen does not use an anti-reflective coating particularly good. Virtually all phones are reflective enough these days, but with a less effective, the effects become quite pushy when going outdoors.

For a phone of this class, however, the screen is decent enough – it does not suffer from the soft colours sadly sometimes we see in budget phones.

Like almost all Huawei phones, Y300 Ascend runs Android. It uses Android 4.1 at the moment and there is no word of when – or if – will get a Boost up to Android 4.2 or 4.3.

However, mostly it is questionable why Y300 ascending runs a custom interface rather invasive. Is a smaller version of the UI emotion that is common in high-end phones Huawei, but is only occasionally in low-end ones, historically used at least.

Is an interface that is quite strange and unusual because cuts completely off the side menu of Android apps. All the Apps Ascend Y300, all his games and all its usefulness (including the menu settings) are placed throughout the home six screens, which can be increased to nine, if you need more space.

Is initially a very puzzling layout and one that requires more organization than any other interface – why it doesn't auto-arrange apps in itself, how does a dedicated applications menu. You have the tools, like Y300 Ascend apps and folders allow fairly easy rearrangements of apps. But it is far from a custom user interface to save effort. New applications to get to the home screen very whizzed far too, which seems absurd to us.

Because Huawei has done this? Our best bet is that it's giving the company's phones more than a taste of iOS. iOS is the software used by the iPhone and – like the user interface of emotion – all the phone's features and apps are arranged through home screens. However, as you can imagine, it works much better than an iPhone.

A slightly more positive side to the user interface of emotion is that allows you to choose between a bunch of themes that alter the wallpaper of Y300 Ascend, app icons and even lock screen in one go. They can also alter system fonts.

Five themes available, but hardly dynamic, are pre-installed. You can download a few more UI Web site of emotion, but they are labeled as for Ascend P1, so few will realize this. Should be a fun, defining the user interface features of emotion, but Huawei did not complete successfully.

Review Nokia Lumia 625

Nokia Series Lumia has shown that it is perfectly possible to take stock of cracked Windows Phone 8 mobile – the Lumia 520 and 620 Lumia are best cheap phones.

Nokia smartphone Lumia 625 is out to make the idea a step further. It has a larger screen than one of those phones and also offers 4 g connectivity. Priced at about £ 200 SIM-free, is one of the cheapest ways to get connected with ultra-fast internet. There are some compromises that you must live with it.

The Nokia Lumia 625 seems, as you can guess from the name, a bit like an oversized 620 Lumia. Has a 4.7 inches, much larger than we usually expect from a relatively affordable phone like this.

La Lumia 625 also has the battery cover as the 620. La Lumia 625 has a plastic shell covering the back and sides of the phone, so there aren't any obvious seams to see on his body.

Also shares the style of double-layer finish and the outside of the plastic shell is translucent plastic. Available colors include la Lumia-red bow, green and yellow, with black and white for those who after a look more serious.

Although it borrows design elements from Lumia 620, 625 Lumia so nice is not a phone. There are visible spots on plastic case under the translucent portion, which ruin the look a bit, and black high contrast buttons were eliminated in favor of a more harmless those color-matched. The largest portable format ensures that it is not just cute either.

This is a very low resolution display to a projector. To put it in context, the screen on the HTC one has more than 2 million pixels. La Lumia 625 less than 400,000.

The screen is not very strong. Windows Phone 8 attempts to combat the problem with a clever text smoothing in the main interface. This makes the display on 625 la Lumia appear soft, rather than blocks. Basically it looks great. The disappointing resolution screen presents even more in some parts of the Microsoft phone has a little less control over – such as playing videos or surf the web. Small text can also look very blocky.

It uses an LCD Panel that has none of the claims "clear Black" associated with more expensive Nokia phones. When transformed into certain corners, Lumia 625 screen turns greyish. More importantly, color and contrast are generally just aren't particularly good. Disastrous? No pop images in the same way they do on other phones Lumia. By-side, Lumia screen appears worse than 625 of Lumia or 520 620 Lumia.

That said, the anti-reflective coating of Lumia 625 is superior to Lumia 520 – is quite usable outside at maximum brightness.

LG G2 Phone Review

The G2 by LG was officially unveiled at a launch event dedicated to New York after months of losses and countless voices.

A 5.2-inch phone with a raft of premium innards, G2 LG marks return of South Korean manufacturer form on smartphone scene. Runs a fast quad-core processor 2.26 GHz with 2 GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a whole new design that sees all physical keys moved to the back of the laptop.

Set to hit dealers later this summer, the G2 LG looks, on paper at least, to be a direct rival to the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC and iPhone 5. We went hands-on to find out whether it is possible to match the big names on the performance too.

LG G2 design is sure to be one of the main talking points of the phone, with its rear-mounted physical buttons. In short, however, this new approach really works, and after some initial confusion and clumsiness quickly becomes an intuitive way to control the phone.

Located in the upper center of the back of the phone, the rear key controls sit comfortably under the laptop's built-in camera and add an additional thickness barely to its slender design. Much more than a simple volume rocker, the rear key acts as a shortcut to launch the camera, the shutter of the camera, LG QuickMemo launcher for services and a whole range of further. It's easy to feel too blindly the way around the controls with the buttons that acts as a natural resting position for the index finger is holding the phone in both left handed or right-handed way.

Although 5.2-inch display make the G2 feel quite considerable within the hand, isn't overpowering. The phone is lightweight and well-balanced with the slightest 8.9 mm thick and slightly rounded edging helping further ergonomic fit. Awesome, the display Board--Board means that the bezel was cut just 2.65 mm.

While the phone is full of high quality components, materials are a little less intellectual. Unlike A HTC or iPhone 5, the G2 from LG has a plastic body. Despite this, it looks solid with no unwanted flex and on first impressions we anticipate that survive knocks more moderate or drops with little damage. It is set to launch in both color schemes, black and white.

LG G2 screen is where this high-end smartphone really stands apart from the competition. Has an edge--5.2-inch Full HD edge and this provides instant wow factor that will continue to amaze us beyond first use.

Colors are crisp and bright and offer a true-to-life and Full HD resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels and image 423 pixels per inch average density there is no graining or pixelisation while viewing photos or text-based content. The screen LG G2 really pop, with stunning view more premium TV-like a smartphone. Not only bring the LG on par with Samsung and HTC, ben could give the Korean company.

During video playback screen transitions were smooth and seamless without motion blur or stuttering. The black boarder between the screen and the bezel is, however, a bit larger than we would have hoped and takes something away from expanding screen efforts, reducing design bezel LG went to.

On a front of software, the LG G2 is stylish and intuitive. Although it lacks the 4.3 Android launched recently, the near identical Android OS 4.2.2 Jelly Bean is the heart of your phone and has been overlaid with LG UX interface.

There are a number of new additions to UI in G2 LG as a privacy enhancing guest mode and a simple tap to activate the option that helps further the lack of physical controls. Phone Software deemed highly responsive and fluid during our hands-on, though more strenuous testing will be required before full judgment can be passed.

On first use, the performance of LG G2 is second to none. This is all down to the considerable power lying beneath the body of the phone too, with a 2.26 GHz processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 lining up alongside 2 GB RAM.

This combination is a formidable and the true power of G2 is evident from the outside. Springing to life with no hesitation, jumps through homescreen transitions with ease. Jumping in and out more apps no more came near the phone. The G2 handled everything we could throw at it during our hands-on without breaking a sweat. Even if further testing is still required, first impressions are strong for this Android phone.

Although the G2 from LG can answer calls simply by picking up the phone without touching the display or all buttons, unfortunately we couldn't test this function during our hands-on time with the phone. Similarly, 3000mAh battery lithium-ion battery that keeps things running along could be pushed to its limits. We will address all of these areas in our full review LG G2 soon.

G2 camera LG gave strong on the screen when we tested the results. Quick to launch and quick shutter speeds, 13 megapixel camera on the back was a joy to use. What is more, coupled with the 5.2-inch display and image reproduction is equally pleasant experience. The rear camera has a built-in flash LED to further enhance the shots and optical image stabilization.

On the front of the secondary camera by 2.1 inches is a welcome inclusion but which, on first impressions, suffers from the same problems that trouble many smartphone cameras pointing forward. Early tests showed the camera slightly struggled with light handling and the shutter was a bit on the slow side.

Ensuring that your shots are not dulled by fingerprints smeared, the camera back to LG G2 features a Sapphire Crystal lens anti-fingerprint, ideal for its location under the physical keys.

On first impressions the G2 from LG is a much needed step on the smartphone scene from Korean manufacturer. Not only best LG phone to date, the G2 from LG is shaping up to be one of the best phones ever made. Its 5.2-inch screen is simply breathtaking and powerful specs under the hood will be future-proof the phone for some time yet. We can't wait for our review sample to arrive.
